Botanical Blooms!

I have my monthly stamp-a-stack coming up this week. Beckie and I usually have 6 different cards to make plus a scrapbook layout. We try not to make the cards too labor-intensive. We want them to be able to get a lot made! This card uses the Sale-a-Bration set, Botanical Blooms. I made it so they can stamp whatever greeting they want. It could be an Easter, thank you, get well or a birthday card! And this also would be easy to jazz up by adding glitter, paper piercing or some cool rhinestone brads!

recipe

stamps: Botanical Blooms, A Good Egg
paper: Kraft, white, Red Riding Hood Red, Bella Rose DSP
ink: Kiwi Kiss, RRH Red
accessories: dimensionals, vintage brads

Spectacular twilight shuttle launch!

WOW! How amazing it was to be at Kennedy Space Center and see the launch so close! We had a great time and Sara and Katy loved it. I got some pretty good pics. The lighting wasn't real good because the sun was setting. The launch was at 7:43 pm, and we finally got home at 10:45 pm! I think all of Orlando came over to the coast to see this launch! Enjoy the photos! : )

Kristina's Color Inspiration #45

I finally got the chance to make a card for Kristina's Color Inspiration today! This was a super quick card!! I normally wouldn't used just dark colors, I think this screams for just a bit of red! I used the new Designer Series paper 'Walk in the Park' and stamp set 'Great Friend'. These items will be available April 1st in the new Spring Mini Catalog. Also used on the card is Whisper White card stock, Basic Black ink and Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by!

Sara

I took some photos the other day of Sara and Katy while they were playing outside with their new hoola hoops. Here is a good one of Sara. I played around with it a little bit in Photoshop Elements.

Color Inspiration #44

I received my FREE stamp set "On a Pedestal" the other day! This set will be in the Summer 2009 Stampin Up catalog. By attending the regional here in Orlando, I was offered this set if I had a $400 workshop within 2 weeks of the regional.

I've always loved these colors together! But, I had a hard time incorporating the Close to Cocoa with the Chocolate Chip. Here is what I finally came up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Check out another cute sample of this set at my friend Beckie's site HERE!

Sweet Sunday #7

I finally got some time to make a card for Karen's sketch challenge! I'm not completely sure I like the way this came out, it's kind of plain. But I wasn't going to start over! : ) So, this will have to do!

I seriously need some more light for my photos. When I used the flash, it drowns it out. I tried to lighten them up in Photoshop. I guess I'll have to bring an extra lamp to my stamp desk when I take photos or go outside to take the photo. What does everyone else do to make their photos bright?

card recipe

stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Short & Sweet

paper: Close to Cocoa, Confetti White

inks: Close to Cocoa, So Saffron

accessories: jumbo brads, SAB ribbon bundle, 2 way glue, DD glitter, Coluzzle, scallop edge punch, sponge

I'm An Award Winning Photographer!

Well, I've won one award, anyway! Stampin Up had a photography contest about 2 years ago and I won runner-up for these photos of Katy. I won a stamp set of my choice! The pictures were supposed to be published in Stampin Success (SU's magazine for demonstrators), but I have yet to see them in there! I should write to Stampin Up about that!

Be sure to scroll down to see a post from earlier today!

Cosmo and Spike

Cosmo had curled up in the cushions in the couch looking completely peaceful, then Spike spots him and just had to jump up in there, too. Poor Cosmo, he just can't catch a break away from this wild pup.

Close as a memory

I had to make a sympathy card a while back for a friend, so I made a couple extras just to have on hand. I really like the way this turned out. Just simple and nice. I don't think sympathy cards should be too busy. I used Almost Amethyst and Elegant Eggplant on the flowers. I stamped off once to give it a softer feel. The size of this card is 4.5" x 6.25", a little larger than the usual 4.25" x 5.5".

Thanks for stopping by!

card recipe:
stamps: Close as a Memory
ink: Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant
paper: Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant
accessories: brads, dimensionals, sponge, cutter kit
